Medicine & Public Health

As a physician, Dr. Yen knows a fundamental truth: your medical decisions should be made between you and your doctor. Period. Politicians looking for clicks on social media have no business in your exam room.

During his time in the State Senate, Dr. Yen was often the only voice standing up against dangerous medical misinformation. He fought to ensure our communities were protected from preventable diseases, taking hard votes to keep our kids safe and writing the law that banned minors from using commercial tanning beds to prevent skin cancer.

In the U.S. Senate, Dr. Yen will fight to:

  • Keep politicians out of your healthcare, ensuring medical freedom and protecting the sacred doctor-patient relationship.
  • Expand funding for struggling rural hospitals so Oklahomans don't have to drive hours for life-saving emergency care.
  • Strengthen our national stockpile and health response plans so our country is never caught off guard in a crisis again.

Education Infrastructure

A healthy economy starts with a strong public school system. Unfortunately, extreme political factions are treating our kids' classrooms like political battlegrounds instead of focusing on what actually matters: reading, math, and science.

Dr. Yen views education as our best preventative medicine. By investing in early childhood learning and properly funding our local schools, we prevent downstream issues like poverty, poor health, and crime. We need to stop the culture wars and get back to the basics of learning.

In the U.S. Senate, Dr. Yen will fight to:

  • Treat teachers like the highly trained professionals they are, advocating for national standards of pay that reflect their vital role in shaping our future.
  • Ensure federal education dollars reach actual classrooms, not bloated administrative bureaucracies.
  • Protect public school funding from schemes that drain money away from our rural and inner-city districts.

Public Safety & Justice

Dr. Yen believes in safe communities and supporting law enforcement. He proved this in the State Senate by authoring the law that banned texting while driving, a common-sense move that saved lives on Oklahoma highways.

But as a doctor, he also knows you cannot simply arrest your way out of an addiction and mental health crisis. We are spending billions of taxpayer dollars locking up non-violent folks struggling with addiction, only for them to come out worse. Treating these issues in a clinic is vastly more effective—and drastically cheaper for the taxpayer—than treating them in a prison cell.

In the U.S. Senate, Dr. Yen will fight to:

  • Shift federal funding toward real mental health and addiction treatment facilities to solve the root of the problem.
  • Support our police by giving them specialized mental health response units, so officers can focus on stopping violent crime.
  • Implement proven rehabilitation programs that get people back into the workforce and save taxpayer money in the long run.
